    Job Description

    Primary Function of Position:

    We are seeking an Associate to work within the Intuitive Ventures team to help transaction and deal execution activities, as well as market landscaping and deal diligence, associated with innovative healthcare technology companies and the startup ecosystem. Learning outcomes from this role will include:

    • Deep exposure to venture capital, frontier healthcare technologies and ecosystems
    • Learn the values and processes related to venture capital investing transactions, from sourcing to diligence to deal execution
    • Working in a cross-disciplinary environment with technical experts, scientists/engineers, corporate colleagues, investors and an external ecosystem of innovators

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    The MBA Associate will help with the following responsibilities:

    • Attending company pitches and providing input and analysis on specific opportunities reviewed by the team;
    • Build startup company and industry vertical landscapes and help deal sourcing for new technology and startup opportunities across medical device and digital domains
    • Help diligence and deal execution, including the analysis of company materials, financial reports, developing attractive landscapes and helping the preparation of investment memos and presentations for Intuitive Venture’s Investment Committee.

    Qualifications

    University Hiring Program Eligibility Requirements:

    • University Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degree-seeking academic program after the internship. 
    • Internship Work Period: Must be available to work part-time (approximately 8-10 hours per week) during Fall starting ideally in September. Specific start dates are mutual during the recruiting process.

    Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

    • Graduate level study in business (MBA candidate), engineering or biological sciences (MPH, MD, or PhD candidates) and/or work experience in consulting, financial services, investing or startups with knowledge of the healthcare/ life sciences ecosystem, including:
    • Experience with financial analysis including interrogation of financial statements, building business models and projections in Microsoft excel
    • Ability to learn quickly and get deep in scientific/clinical subject matter within weeks
    • Exceptional analytic and research skills and ability to communicate complex ideas and synthesized insights in simple written and verbal formats
    • Self-starter and ability to work effectively across multiple teams, projects and deadlines
