    About the role


    Remuneration: $150K - $200K USD.

    QPE is seeking an exceptional professional to join the San Francisco office as a Private Equity Associate. As part of a lean team of investment professionals, the Associate will be involved in all aspects of Private Equity (“PE”) and Venture Capital (“VC”) investing, with a primary focus on North American opportunities.

    This position offers a multi-faceted and high-responsibility role across both fund and direct / co-investment opportunities. The Associate will report directly to the QPE Partner responsible for all North American VC & PE activity.

    Based in our San Francisco office, reporting directly to the QPE Partner responsible for North American VC & PE activities, you will engage in a diverse range of tasks essential to the success of our investment strategies.


    Specifically, the individual will be responsible for: 

    • Evaluating investment opportunities both for funds and directly into companies, managing investment processes and timelines, and performing quantitative analysis / commercial due diligence.
    • Drafting investment committee materials, such as the initial underwriting memos for various investment opportunities and contributing to the final recommendation. 
    • Assisting with market coverage for the North American VC & PE landscape and research aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of target segments and sectors.
    • Continuously monitor the performance of the investment portfolio, tracking key metrics and identifying any issues or opportunities for value creation.
    • Assist in the preparation of detailed and accurate client reports, providing insights into portfolio performance and responding to client inquiries.
    • Proactively develop and nurture relationships with private equity managers, intermediaries, and peer investors, leveraging these connections to source high-quality investment opportunities.

    About You

    We seek an individual who is a team-orientated, self-starter, with the ability to work collaboratively across different offices and with diverse teams. You will also possess the following: 

    • Demonstrated post-graduate experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or management consulting.
    • Strong commercial acumen with an ability to analyze businesses and form and articulate a perspective.
    • Professional presence and clear communicator able to build relationships and interact effectively with internal and external parties. 
    • Highly analytical with strong financial modelling experience. 
    • Excellent time management and prioritization skills with an ability to manage an investment process across multiple stakeholders from start to finish. 
    • Ability to draft clear, concise, and persuasive investment memos and reports.
    • Strong presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate investment ideas and findings to internal teams and external stakeholders.
