Position Overview: Headline is seeking a motivated and dynamic Venture Capital Analyst to join our Global Growth team (Series B onwards), where we invest up to $50M in growth-stage startups. This role is ideal for individuals with 1-2 years of experience in Investment Banking, Management Consulting or Private Equity who are passionate about enterprise/B2B software startups. The successful candidate will focus on sourcing and conducting diligence work on promising startups across North America.

Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing Startups:

• Speak to and build trust with 25+ CEOs of enterprise and B2B software startups in North America each week, as identified by the Global Growth team and yourself.
• Synthesize call notes and key takeaways from conversations with founders, summarizing the most compelling opportunities for the team.
• Maintain relationships with and provide value to priority CEOs.

Due Diligence:

• Conduct financial, KPI, returns and valuation analysis of potential investment opportunities.
• Perform market research, competitive landscaping, and customer surveying and industry referencing.
• Prepare memos and presentations on key findings for the investment team, providing insights and analysis to support investment decisions.

Network Building:

• Develop and maintain relationships within the startup and venture capital ecosystem.
• Build a strong network of relevant founders and industry contacts.
• Engage with industry experts and advisors to gain deeper insights into investment opportunities.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of practical experience in Investment Banking, Management Consulting or Private Equity.
• Scrappy and hungry desire to source startups.
• Excellent conversation, relationship-building and people skills.
• Enthusiasm for venture capital and startups.
• Knowledge of enterprise and B2B software markets preferred.

$100,000 - $140,000 a year

Salary pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, certifications, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges are subject to change in the future.
