Ironspring Ventures is hiring a Principal to join our venture capital firm full time. This is an exciting role to contribute to a high-performing team and further build out a portfolio of digital industrial innovators. The Principal position is an experienced, mid-career investment professional role for an early stage investor both to grow as a leader investing in
and advising companies and to help expand our capacity as a venture firm. Ironspring Ventures has $61M in assets under management for Fund I, as well as a recently launched $100M Fund II.
LOCATION: Must be located full time in a major US tech hub

In June 2024, Ironspring Ventures announced a $100M Fund II that we are currently investing out of. And the firm ontinues to manage and make follow-on investments out of its $61M Fund I vehicle.
THIS ROLE: We are looking for a Principal to serve on our investment team. This is a position for an experienced venture investor to help us increase deal velocity and grow our portfolio. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability in sourcing, diligencing, and investing in high quality deals in industrial sectors through a deep network across the innovation ecosystem. The Principal will have the opportunity to lead deals, take board seats, formulate theses,
conduct in-depth market research, engage our unique network, build financial models, publish thought leadership, support our portfolio, and play a key role in Ironspring’s growth head.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Proactively source investments and work collaboratively with the team to support due diligence and execution of new investments
• Develop a strong pipeline of investment opportunities as well as build strong sourcing referral networks
• Support all phases of deal cycle, including investment structuring, negotiation, documentation, and execution
• Provide value-added oversight of investments and management support, including board representation, collection/monitoring of key performance indicators, technical analysis and strategy, business development and lead generation, introductions/connections, and fundraising support
• Actively engage Ironspring Venture’s unique industrial network to provide value both to our portfolio and back to the network
• Represent Ironspring Ventures and broaden its network at industry events/conferences and support the entrepreneurial ecosystem through active involvement and subject matter expertise content creation
REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of five years proven experience investing in early stage, industrial B2B focused companies
• Extraordinary sourcing skills, with proven success in finding and competing to win competitive deals
• Sound investment judgment, investment diligence acumen, and deal construction experience
• Demonstrated company governance and board responsibility experience
• Commercial acumen with strong analytical skills (excel modeling) and experience managing risk in a portfolio
• Strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across the industrial innovation ecosystem
• Excellent interpersonal abilities and communication skills (verbal and written)
