The Role
Burkehill is seeking a motivated and driven Investment Professional to join its New York-based team. This is a generalist role at the core of Burkehill's investment process, directly supporting Sector Heads and the Managing Partner/CIO across long/short equity and event-driven strategies — with immediate exposure to senior decision-makers and a clear, meritocratic development path.
The ideal candidate is a driven Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Equity Research professional with strong financial modeling capabilities, rigorous analytical skills, and a genuine interest in public markets. Key responsibilities include:
- Idea Generation & Screening — Identify long/short opportunities through screening for valuation dislocations, corporate catalysts, and event-driven situations
- Financial Modeling — Build detailed financial models from scratch including DCF, comps, precedent transactions, and scenario analyses
- Fundamental Research — Conduct rigorous primary research on companies and industries to develop proprietary insights
- Investment Memos — Prepare detailed memos articulating thesis, catalyst timelines, risk/reward frameworks, and key assumptions
- Portfolio Monitoring — Track positions, earnings, news flow, and regulatory developments; flag material thesis changes proactively
